CHRISTMAS WEEKEND 2005

HHERO went to Vermillion Parish again on Wednesday evening before Christmas. In addition to providing assistance in the form of feed for the ranchers, HHERO was a facilitator in the presentation of a very special Christmas gift to a very fortunate and deserving young lady. Sandra Young from Vernon FL donated and presented a beautiful quarter horse named Rhiannon to Blair Lemaire of Mouton Cove LA. Gift sets including halter and lead sets and grooming brushes, generously provided by English Riding Supply of PA (englishridingsupply.com) and other goodies were given to the 4-H kids by Hopeful Haven and Sandra Young. Sandra and Richard also brought a mountain of gifts and clothes with them to be given out.

It is an understatement to call this generosity as it goes beyond what the word conjures. Read about this presentation in The Daily Advertiser from Lafayette LA. You can also see the Channel 10 KLFY (Lafayette) news report.

We also did our usual feed distribution on Friday morning. This weekend, we gave out 12-1/2 tons of horse and cattle feed, bringing our hurricane relief effort up to about 127 tons.

Thanks to all the guys who help unload the feed....Johnny...Tommy....Cliff...       Thanks to Troy for his truck and trailer....                                                           Thanks to Hank and Sonny for their continuing help...                                        Thanks to Mark...Curliss and all the others without whom, this wouldn't be possible.....
