In loving memory of Champ
01.07 - Champ has gone over the rainbow. He will be greatly missed. Champ was a very gentle and loving horse to have and ride. He left us on Jan. 23. 07 as a result of someone trying to steal him from his home. But Champ knew he was loved by his family, and now we have a Champ angel, looking over the rest of HHERO and TORR friends. We love and miss you champ... SEPULVADO '07
Goodbye
With heavy hearts and a tear in our eyes
after all these years, we must say goodbye.
Please understand, we've done all we could,
if there was anything we could do, you know we would.
I'm sitting here right now, gently rubbing your ears,
while I talk to you softly, trying to hold back the tears.
The memories you gave us, we'll never forget,
especially the ones of the day we all met.
One last hug and one last kiss,
you have no idea how much you'll be missed.
To look into your eyes this one last time,
you tell me it's ok...you know it's your time.
Close your eyes now and go to sleep.
We'll pray to the Lord, your soul he'll keep.
Go in peace now, our good friend,
We'll stay right here with you, until the end.
Dream of that special day and time,
when we'll meet at the Bridge and all will be fine.
We'll run and play side-by-side,
with a soft warm feeling deep down inside.
Your memory will live on in each one of us..
You'll always be number one to all of us.
Have a safe journey through the night.
I promise when you awake, you'll be in God's light.
So with heavy hearts and tears in our eyes,
just for now my friend...we say goodbye.

his best interest. ( 05.05)
In loving memory of Sandman
Sandman will be sadly missed by those who have fostered, adopted and loved him. He died of old age in January of '05.
In loving memory of Wildfire
"Hopeful Haven is sad to announce that Wildfire had to be euthanized on 2 Jan 04. Comfortable padding and corrective shoes kept Wildfire comfortable with his Laminitis. Unfortunately, Wildfire was so comfortable and frisky that his behavior turned for the worse and he started acting dangerously aggressive. After another veterinarian consultation and much consideration, It was voted amongst the officers of HHERO to euthanise Wildfire in the interest of safety for himself and his handlers."

In loving memory of Hustler - Donated June 2001

In loving memory of Erica - Rescued Dec 2002
HHERO is sad to inform our caring supporters that this beautiful and gentle pony, (believed to be a Welsh/Shetland mix approx 15 years old) was badly foundered in all four feet and in a lot of pain. She was found after wandering up to a horse farm, under-nourished and with hooves close to 10 inches long! Her quality of life couldn't be re-established and her only relief could come from over the rainbow bridge. Bless those who brought her to HHERO and allowed her life to close with dignity and in a place where she was loved and will be missed.
In loving memory of Mandy
Sadly, Mandy had to be put to rest in April, along with Allie. Mandy had severe osteo-arthritis. Allie (no photo avail) had severe COPD. Neither horse had a good quality of life with their conditions. They are greatly missed.
